Description
"2020 The Protests" is an abstract impressionist cityscape representing the Worldwide protests during this crisis year of global pandemic.
Historically, protests have served as an outlet for marginalized groups to articulate their frustrations — and make their demands known. One such example is New York's Stonewall riots, which kicked off the modern Pride movement and mainstream LGBTQ visibility.
Today, in the year 2020, protests like those over the death of George Floyd are ongoing, even in the midst of a global pandemic. Protesters around the world are calling for police reform and an end to systemic racism.

Amazing work, Chris. The colors and imagery, the fire and projectiles....I keep reading the shadows.....dynamic and powerful! F/L++
Chris Armytage replied:
Nancy, thank you so much for your wonderful comment and the F/L++ ... so much in this subject to portray. At first it was just going to be about toppling the statues, but then the image seemed to develop a mind of it's own and I just went with it ... I hope I've done it justice.
